If you yearned for local smoked fish or Ikan Tahai, travel 12km out of Lawas town to Punang, which is a Malay Kampung (village), with a pleasant beach.
Punang offers activites such as night cruise for spotting fireflies, crocodiles and even Proboscis monkey watching which can be arranged with local tour agent. Kuala Lawas also known for the sea grass and Dugong and a good site for diving as well.
