An annual Gawai Carnival to showcase the rich authentic Dayak Bidayuh culture, tradition and heritage. It is aim to promote tourism and to further enchance goodwill among other races.
Gawai Carnival Redeems is an annual Gawai carnival organised by REDEEM and has grown popularity by leaps and bound since inception in 2006. This is due to the fact that it is truly promoting and reflecting genuine traditional festival culture and sports of the natives of Borneo and Malaysia particularly the Bidayuh tribe and is also held in very fitting rural setting.
Amongst few objectives are :-
- To showcase the authentic Dayak Bidayuh culture, traditions, food, arts and crafts in a rural setting.
- To encourage better cooperation, unity and understanding between and among the Rakyat involved as well as creating goodwill with others participating in the event and visitors
- Develop tourism product and promote tourism industry in rural areas.
This would be the 13th Gawai Carnival Redeems or harvest festival showcase Gawai traditional rituals, Gawai Beauty Peagant, Open House at longhouse, handicraft and food stalls and Gawai Gala Dinner on 30th May 2018.
