Food has always been one’s source of happiness. The little town of Sibu is the best known place to savour some delectable dishes because of its diversity in cultures and races that give the people a range of tastes for their palates.
In fact, there is not a better way to experience the soul of Sibu than trying out its variety of food; from its signature ‘kampua’ noodles to its iconically local unleavened bread, the ‘kompia’.
It is with this intention that Wisma Sanyan proudly hosts its signature culinary event, the “Pesta Santapan Borneo Sanyan 2020″.
To kick start the event, Wisma Sanyan has invited the Sibu Fire and Rescue Department to give a talk on Safety Awareness for all food vendors as well as members of the public who are interested to learn about personal safety and basic fire fighting skills.
This culinary outing, lasting for a month starting from Sept 15 to Oct 18 will feature home-cooked delicacies from our Dayak, Malay and Chinese communities.
To add to the excitement, famous Chef Tao Tao will be bringing his famous Siamese culinary creations to the event.
This non-profit event is intended to reach out and help the parents and families who are being greatly affected by the current Covid-19 pandemic. However, this event is also expected to be a mouth-watering experience for all foodies with a smorgasbord of only the best food Sibu has to offer.
Wisma Sanyan will continue to create excitement for all customers by co-hosting a Book Fair with Public Book Company (Level 4) from October 23 to November 1, followed by the Shoes Fair from November 6 to November 15.
