STB attends ITB Berlin

SARAWAK, 17th March 2022 – Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) officially participated in ITB Berlin Convention 2022, the world’s largest travel trade fair to increase Sarawak’s visibility amongst travellers and tourism players from around the world.

As part of the participation, STB, along with local travel and tour operators from the southern, central and northern region of Sarawak networked with traders globally via the ITB Berlin Digital Business Day 2022, an international virtual marketing trade show at the Sarawak stand housed in Kuching Waterfront Hotel.

The one-day session serves as a networking platform that connects industry experts specialised in the field, with buyers and sellers worldwide, providing insights on the future of tourism and overall business outlook.

STB’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor said, “STB’s objective in participating in this travel trade fair is to expand our knowledge on digital, sustainable, and resilient solutions within the tourism ecosystem, with experts in the field. Our participation in ITB Berlin Convention 2022, is another step forward in providing the opportunity to our local industry players to network with traders, buyers and media across the globe.”

Prior to ITB Berlin Digital Business Day 2022, ITB Berlin hosted the three-day ITB Berlin Convention Day from 8 to 10 March 2022, as a platform for top speakers from the travel industry to guide and provide perspective for the future of travel industry. Among the topics covered were Future & Resilience track, E-travel track and Responsible Tourism track.
