Kuching, Sarawak – Borneo Sonic 2023 is a significant milestone in the region's cultural landscape, being the first-ever and the biggest music event of its kind in Borneo. This groundbreaking event is set to redefine entertainment, taking place on 6th and 7th October 2023 at the Sarawak Stadium in Kuching, and it will become an annual event.
Borneo Sonic will be featuring a stellar lineup of K-pop royalty, each artist being a global sensation:
Taeyang, the main vocalist and main dancer of the iconic boy group Big Bang. Taeyang has made an indelible mark on the music world with over 10 million records sold. His latest single "Vibe" charted in over fifteen countries, reaching number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100, while his recent full-length album released in April added to his meteoric rise.
CL, a multi-talented rapper, songwriter, and singer, rose to fame as a member of the groundbreaking girl group 2NE1. Her solo career took flight in 2013 with the debut single "The Baddest Female," and her highly acclaimed album "ALPHA" further solidified her status as a global powerhouse.
Suho, the leader of EXO, has captivated fans worldwide with his soulful voice and charismatic presence. His solo debut in 2020 with the EP "Self Portrait" and its lead single "Let's Love" showcased his remarkable artistry and versatility, receiving immense praise.
HYO, renowned for her exceptional talent as a singer, dancer, DJ, and television personality, has been a prominent figure in Girls' Generation. Since the release of her first extended play “Deep” in May 2022, HYO has been captivating audiences with her electrifying performances and stage presence.
In addition to the K-pop luminaries, Borneo Sonic 2023 features a diverse lineup of performers from around the world, including the renowned Australian artist Havana Brown, the legendary American rapper and Grammy Award Winner Fatman Scoop, Malaysia's very own musical gem, Ning Baizura and many more. We hope this event will help boost our local economy and become an annual highlight and anchor event in Sarawak for many years to come.
