Borneo Jazz Launches Car Sticker Contest

MIRI, Tuesday – Sarawak Tourism Board, today, launched the Car Sticker Contest in conjunction with Borneo Jazz 2014 to remind the public on the upcoming festival which will take place in Miri this coming May 9-10.

The Miri City Mayor, Mr Lawrence Lai together with STB CEO, Dato’ Rashid Khan launched the sticker campaign at Jalan Kingsway opposite the Mayor’s office in Miri this afternoon. About five hundred Borneo Jazz 2014 car stickers will be distributed to motorists throughout Miri city through Borneo Post office at Jalan Sri Dagang (Miri Waterfront) and the Visitor Information Centre Miri at Jalan Melayu. Those who are interested to participate are welcome to collect the free car stickers from these offices.

Dato’ Rashid Khan in his statement said, “This an initiative to drive awareness to members of the public and all road users about the coming Borneo Jazz to be held again in Miri. The festival is one of the major events listed in conjunction with Visit Sarawak Year 2014 and Miri May Fest”.

The winners of this contest will be those whose car is spotted with a Borneo Jazz car sticker during the contest period. The campaign will be carried out during the month of April (1st – 30th April) and the lucky car owner will stand a chance to win 2 sets of 2-day tickets to Borneo Jazz 2014, valued at RM280.00. Up to fifty winners will be picked during the campaign period and the winners will be announced by the first week of May through Borneo Jazz website at www.jazzborneo.com as well as the media partner, The Borneo Post, Utusan Borneo and See Hua Daily News.

The contest is open to all cars including Bruneian or Indonesian cars but the cars will only be spotted in Miri city.

All winners will have to do is to present their vehicle’s original car registration document at the point of prize redemption*. The prizes are not exchangeable for cash.

The annual Borneo Jazz now in its 9th year, over two exciting days of jazz music held at the Parkcity Everly Hotel, Miri. The line-up this year promises to be an exciting one. The performing bands will cover a wide range of jazz influences with jazz bands from Georgia, Germany, Cuba, Martinique, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Malaysia as well as Sarawak’s own jazz artist who has established herself in the music circuit of China.

Sarawak Tourism Board also encourages festival-goers to look out for attractive promotional offers and discounts for festival tickets which is currently announced on its website at www.jazzborneo.com.

*Prize redemption is at the Borneo Post Miri office located at Miri Waterfront commercial centre. Redemption only after names of winners are notified on website and newspaper.
